Cycling and Running Coach, Equinox
A native New Yorker, Alie is a fitness professional and former bike racer who began cycling in 2008, after losing her mother to Breast Cancer. What started as "therapy" to deal with her loss, quickly developed into a near all-consuming passion. She competed in Road, Track, and Cyclocross disciplines from 2012-2016 earning many notable podiums including qualifying for the UCI Road World Amateur Championships twice. In 2015 Alie co-founded Bicycle Roots p/b Hatchmap Women’s Development race team to help grow the sport of women’s bike racing in New York City. That same year she joined Team Lipstick as a cycling coach.
Alie has been a Group Fitness Instructor at Equinox since 2013 and served as the head of Group Fitness for Equinox Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY from 2016-2019 during which she was awarded Equinox’s Outstanding Group Fitness Program of the year in 2017. Further, she has held extensive women’s ambassadorship roles at companies including Rapha and LIV/Giant Bicycles.
Alie has traveled extensively, lived abroad in various countries, and loves the excitement that submerging oneself in an entirely new culture brings. So much so that in March 2020, Alie is moving to Mallorca, Spain. To balance out her high intensity lifestyle she enjoys practicing yoga and functional training to strengthen, integrate and balance both mind and body. She holds a degree in Cognitive Neuropsychology from Boston University as well as certifications in Indoor Cycling, Yoga and Ayurvedic Nutrition and presents a holistic approach to fitness. Alie's greatest joy comes from sharing her passion for adventure fitness travel, especially with women, believing it can expand their lives as it has hers -- in EVERY possible dimension.
